Drawing one of the most impressive guest lists of any event in recent memory, the Costume Institute Gala in New York City was the place to be on Monday night (May 2).
With the glitzy soiree being held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, A-List couples such as Beyonce Knowles and Jay-Z mingled with the likes of Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady during the course of the festivities.
This year's MET Gala saw actress Salma Hayek and husband Francois-Henri Pinault acting as honorary chairs with fellow co-chairs including Oscar winning actor Colin Firth, Vogue editor Anna Wintour and designer Stella McCartney.
Meanwhile, the theme of the 2011 Costume Institute Gala was "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty" - which acted as a tribute to the late designer with the opening of an exhibit featuring a number of his most fabulous creations, as curator Andrew Bolton said, "It?s meant to evoke a gothic fairy tale."
Also partaking in the MET celebration were pregnant actresses Jessica Alba and Kate Hudson, as well as Rihanna, Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, Taylor Swift, Dakota Fanning, Ashley Greene, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kanye West and Madonna.
With ex-couple Renee Zellweger and Bradley Cooper both on-hand (though enjoying themselves separately), the Metropolitan Museum of Art also welcomed Miranda Kerr, Orlando Bloom, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Lea Michele, Penelope Cruz and a slate of fellow celebrities all rejoicing the late fashion pioneer, Alexander McQueen.
